http://www.mushroomscience.com/
Medicinal Mushrooms types (probably a partial list- but the one's I've heard of so far)
Chaga
Reishi
Cordyceps
Coriolus
ABM (Agaricus Blazei Murill) http://starfishproject.wordpress.com/2008/10/28/abm-mushroom-extract-is-powerful-medicine-against-cancer/
Shiitake
Maitake
Mushroom supplements are not claimed to have therapeutic effects. But then again, they surely help a lot in disease prevention and body maintenance. ABM, particularly, lowers the risk of heart attack!
ReplyDeleteAHCC should be used with care - it is a 'proprietary' product with side effects and it does not give any better results than a mono-mushroom supplement. Recommended are e.g. Agaricus blazei and Chaga, but also there's some infor that the Cordyceps sinensis works well. All of these have a normalizing effect on the immune system and according to research really impressive results have been achieved when using them to deal with auto-immune disorders like psoriasis, allergies and lupus. It is very important though to buy a good product, meaning an extract with a clear indication of the bioactive ingredients.
ReplyDeleteI can recommend this great source of downloadable research articles for those that want to know more: http:..oriveda.com/resources.php
I don't agree with you David. A simple Google search will show that AHCC;
Delete1) Does not have such side effects as you have described here. Please review the safety data before you make claims like this.
2) Has a wealth of legitimate research behind it (conducted by researchers and physicians) spanning multiple research areas
3) Such research proving its potency and effects when taken by both humans and animals
Given the nature of the product, you'd need to eat about 100lbs of mushrooms to gain the same benefit. Good luck with that one.
