I don't know about 50,000 IU of vitamin D,(seems like too much!) but a bigger dose than you usually take is a good idea. Just about everyone who lives above the equator needs to supplement vitamin D3! Get tested for vitamin D3 levels(ask your doctor if they don't test you at your yearly physical) and take supplements if needed. Read the Woman's Day article.
