I tried aloe vera and grapefuit juice (didn't have oranges) and it was OK, pretty slimy, I have a great peeler (called a soft skin peeler) that worked great on the edges and the first side but then I couldn't hold it to peel the second side. Wish that I had made a video of me trying to peel the aloe vera leaf, you guys could have watched it and LAUGHED! Well just imagine me fighting with a gooey, slimey, slippery thing and trying to hold it still so I can peel it....Minh makes it look so easy in the following video. ENJOY!

Hi Toni,
ReplyDeletenice blog. I also struggled trying to peel Aloe Vera leaf. Found a YouTube video where another girl was showing easier way to take the gel from it.
Basically you have to peel one side of the leaf and then take a t-spoon or table spoon depending on the size of your leaf and just drag the gel from it.
I tried it & it's much easier and you don't have to juggle with those sticky gelly :)
Hope this will help.
All the best and keep blogging :)
Thanks for the tip! and glad you like my blog!
ReplyDeleteHave a GREAT day!
I made it through with the aloe vera...I got a little scared when I heard it could have a harsh laxative effect. It was OK, I started with about a tbsp with my juice and didn't have any issues with cramps or diarrhea..just be cautious don't use too much and make sure you peel it well...
